Ingredients
To make these amazing potato wedges, you will need your favorite potatoes, olive oil or vegetable oil, an air fryer, and your choice of seasoning.
I like to use a combination of paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper, but you can find other seasoning suggestions below.
Use waxy potatoes, such as red potatoes, russet potatoes or Yukon Golds.
Instructions
Cut your potatoes into similar sized wedges. I like to cut them in half lengthways, then cut each half into 3 or 4 wedges.
Add the potato wedges to a bowl, along with the oil and seasoning, and stir to coat each wedge evenly.
Preheat the air fryer to 355 °F / 180 °C. Add the potato wedges to the air fryer basket, but be careful to leave some space between each wedge. You might have to cook the potatoes in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
Air fry for 5 minutes, then shake the basket and turn the potato wedges, and air fry for 5 more minutes.
Test to ensure that the potatoes are soft through the middle by piercing them with a fork. They are done if the fork can be inserted with little resistance.
Top tips
Here are some of my best advice for how you can make the BEST air fryer potato wedges:
- Season generously. Let's be honest; salty, seasoned potatoes are the best.
- Try to cut the wedges into similar sizes. This will help them cook more evenly.
- To allow the air to flow through the air fryer, you should avoid overcrowding the basket. Keep the wedges slightly separated.
Serving suggestions
Air fried potato wedges can be served with a variety of meals.
I like to serve them as a side dish, ideally with a spicy beef burger, air fryer pork chops or sausage meatballs.
They are also excellent to serve as a snack, or even as an appetizer, with a delicious dip like cottage cheese dip, healthy ranch, bacon aioli or sriracha aioli.
Variations
I like to change up the seasoning based on what I want to serve the wedges with. Sometimes I want them with more herbs, and other times I like them spicy. Here are some of my favorite variations:
- Craving cheesy potatoes? Add some shredded cheese or parmesan on top after air frying them.
- Add a pinch of chili powder for a kick of spice.
- Greek style potatoes with rosemary and lemon juice are always popular.
- Salt and pepper potatoes goes with literally anything, and is a great option if you're cooking a traditional meat and potatoes dinner.
Leftovers
Potato wedges are with no doubt best when served and enjoyed immediately. If you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in your air fryer for a few minutes, and serve them warm.
