I love to serve a good dip as a tasty snack, or as a quick and easy appetizer. This cottage cheese dip is served chilled, which means that you can make it ahead of time and keep it refrigerated until it's ready to serve.

Ingredients
This recipe requires cottage cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, dill and chives. This combination of flavors is amazing, but you can naturally replace the seasoning with something else if you prefer.
Instructions
When I say that this dip is easy to make, I mean really easy! All you have to do is simply combine all the ingredients in a food processor, and pulse it for about 30 seconds, until the dip is completely smooth.
If you don't have a food processor, you can try using a stick blender or a regular blender instead.
I have noticed that some brands of cottage cheese contain more liquid than others. If you find that your dip is more watery than you'd like, you can refrigerate it for 30 minutes before serving. This will help the dip firm up, and improve its texture.
Top tips
Here are my top tips to succeed with this recipe:
- Use a food processor to make the dip completely smooth. Cottage cheese has natural cheese curds, which doesn't really work well in a dip. Alternatively, you could try to use a blender.
- Keep the dip refrigerated as much as possible to extend its shelf life.
Serving suggestions
Although you can use this dish for a variety of purposes, like a sandwich spread or salad dressing, it's definitely best served with delicious dippable treats! Here are some of my personal favorites:
Savory snacks: Tortilla chips, pretzels, crostini, crackers or bread are all excellent options.
Vegetables: Try dipping carrot sticks, celery, cucumbers, or cauliflower florets.
Variations
This dip can honestly be varied endlessly. You can change the ingredients and seasoning to make it suit your preferences. Here are some of my favorite flavor combinations:
Spicy: Add a little chili powder or cayenne pepper for a kick and a hint of spice!
Ranch style: Use parsley, dill, chives, onion powder and garlic powder to make ranch cottage cheese dip.
Sweet: Omit the herbs, and add honey and cinnamon for a sweet cottage cheese dip. This would be perfect to serve with fruit or sweet snacks as dessert!
Leftovers
This dip stores really well. Keep it in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 4 days. I do not recommend freezing cottage cheese dip, as it might separate and be watery when thawed.
