    Spicy beef burger

This delicious spicy beef burger is made in less than 15 minutes, and is exactly as juicy as what the images promise. Choose your level of spice, the burger toppings of your preference, and you're good to go.

After you learn how easy is it to make a delicious, juicy homemade burger, you won't want to spend £10 on a burger at a restaurant ever again. I promise, this one is better. And you will definitely not want to buy those frozen burgers in the shop, the ones that shrink to half their size after all the fat has cooked off while frying them. For some reason I always imagined burgers to be super tricky to do. But honestly, they are not. These are incredibly easy to make, and you can play around with different spices to change the flavor and feel of the burgers.

    Spicy beef burger ingredients

Minced beef: Or ground beef, if you will. Kind of the main component in a beef burger.

Breadcrumbs: I usually keep a pack of store bought breadcrumbs in my cupboard. They keep forever, and are great for binding things together. They don't add much in terms of flavor, but trust me - without the breadcrumbs your burgers will fall apart like a mushy mess.

Egg: Like the breadcrumbs, this is essential for the burgers to stick together. If you're allergic, you can use an egg replacer. I've done this a few times, and the result is the exact same.

Chili powder: This is where you find the spice. Omit the chili for a plain burger, or add some extra if you like it really spicy. You can also replace this with other spices or herbs to change the flavor of the burger.

How to make a spicy beef burger

Now check out how easy this is: first, you add all the ingredients to a bowl. Use your hands to combine the ingredients thoroughly. This stuff is a bit messy, but it's over in a minute. Shape the meat dough into burger patties, and prepare a hot frying pan. The frying takes about 4-10 minutes depending on how cooked you want the burgers. You might want to add some butter, oil, or one calorie cooking spray to the pan before adding the burgers to prevent them sticking to the pan.

Add your preferred burger toppings, and serve with your favorite side dishes.

    The best burger toppings

Burger toppings! One of my favorite conversation topics. Fried onion, raw onion, lettuce, pickles, jalapenos, ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, chimichurri sauce, cheese, tomatoes, guacamole, bacon and burger sauce are essential.

    Tips for a great result

    • Spicy beef burgers are best served immediately, but can also be frozen for up to 3 months or stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan on the stove or in the microwave.
    • Let's talk spice. I ad 1 teaspoon chili powder, which gives the burgers a little heat, but not too much. These burgers are completely child friendly. If you want them to be actually spicy, you can add another teaspoon or two.
    • he listed nutritional information is for the burger patties only. Any toppings or side dishes will be added to it.
    • To reduce the amount of calories and carbs in burgers, serve them on lettuce leaves with veggies and light sauces instead of the typical burger bun and burger dressing.

    • 250 g minced beef

    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika can be replaced with more paprika

    Instructions

    • Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix it together thoroughly. Shape into two patties.

    Choose the perfect side dish

Side dishes makes half the burger in my opinion. My personal favorite is garlic parmesan potato wedges. If you're cutting carbs, keto zucchini (courgette) fries is a good option. If you prefer a side salad, try this simple tomato and cucumber salad. As with all spicy food, a creamy and delicious guacamole is essential, and pico de gallo is excellent if you're going for a Mexican twist. Or oven roasted green beans, which might sound odd but is an excellent pairing.

Made this for dinner last night. Quadrupled the ingredients and added 10 fresh ground Birds Eye Chillies (had to substitute the breadcrumbs for Panko) Made 6 half pound burgers, cooked in the oven. Super easy and super delicious. Definitely on my 'make again' list
