This recipe only takes a few minutes to make, and is packed with nutritients and lovely flavor. The Greek yogurt and banana gives the smoothie a lovely creamy texture, while the pineapple and grapefruit provide a tangy but sweet flavor.

    🥘 Ingredients

To make this healthy grapefruit smoothie, you will need a frozen banana, fresh pineapple, grapefruit and spinach, Greek yogurt and water.

The spinach adds a lovely color and great nutrients, but the smoothie tastes of banana, pineapple and grapefruit.

💡 TIP! You can skip the water if you want to make a really thick smoothie, like for a smoothie bowl. Thick smoothies are best served with a spoon, topped with fresh fruit or granola.

🔪 How to make pineapple grapefruit smoothie

Smoothies are always easy to make! You simply have to add all the ingredients to a blender. You want to peel the bananas, pineapple and grapefruit, and roughly dice them first.

If you like a thicker smoothie, you can omit the water and blend the other ingredients together before optionally adding cold water to taste.

Blend the ingredients to a smooth, delicious texture, about 1 minute.

    💭 Top tips

Here's my best tips and advice to make the perfect smoothie:

    • You can use fresh bananas, but I prefer to use them frozen. This also helps the smoothie to chill down.
    • The spinach can technically be omitted, but I highly recommend adding it. You can't taste it, so it's such an easy way to add more greens to your diet.

    🥗 Serving suggestions

Smoothies are served as a chilled, refreshing beverage. They can also be served as a light meal, often for breakfast.

I typically enjoy this drink as a snack or breakfast in the summer. You can also serve it in smaller portions as a drink with your lunch or dinner, or drink it to stay hydrated through the day.

    🍲 Leftovers

This green smoothie is definitely best if served immediately. Any leftovers can also be safely stored in a fridge for up to a day.
