Instructions
Cut the cauliflower into florets. Try to cut them into similar sizes as much as possible. Place them in a bowl, and add the oil and seasoning. Stir to coat the florets evenly.
Preheat the air fryer to 355 °F / 180 °C. Add the cauliflower to the air fryer basket, but make sure not to overcrowd it. If you're using a large cauliflower, you might have to cook it in two batches.
Air fry for 5 minutes, then shake the basket to turn the cauliflower florets, and air fry for another 8-10 minutes, or until the cauliflower is golden on the edges and soft enough to pierce a fork through with little resistance.
Air fry the remaining half of the cauliflowers, and serve them immediately while they are still warm.
Top tips
Here are my best advice on how you can make perfect air fried cauliflower:
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. You might have to roast the florets in multiple batches.
- If you are using frozen cauliflower, you might want to increase the temperature and cooking time to achieve a great result.
- Don't omit the oil; it's crucial to prevent the cauliflower from drying out while it cooks.
Serving suggestions
Air fryer cauliflower is a delicious side that you can serve with a variety of mains. I like to serve it with a typical Sunday roast dinner, with air fryer whole chicken, honey glazed roast chicken or slow cooker gammon in coke.
You can also serve it with honey mustard chicken breasts, air fryer pork chops, or even as a healthier alternative to fries with air fryer hamburgers or gammon steaks.
Variations
It's really easy to adapt this recipe to your preferences, and you can change the seasoning based on what you're serving the cauliflower with. Here are some of my favorite variations of the dish:
- Add some parmesan over the warm cauliflower after removing it from the air fryer.
- For a spicy version, you can add some red pepper flakes.
- Replace the seasoning with some curry powder. Curry and cauliflower go great together!
- Try coating the cauliflower in some pesto.
Leftovers
Leftover air fried cauliflower can be stored and used like regular roasted cauliflower. Store the florets in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can enjoy the cauliflower cold in salads, add them to other dishes like wraps, stews or soup, or you can reheat it in a microwave or air fryer and serve as a warm side dish.
Frequently asked questions
