Growing up in the cold winters of Norway, I have learned to appreciate a good warm drink. This version made with orange juice is a healthy and flavorful drink that most people can appreciate. The orange juice is also quite refreshing, and I drink this all year around.

    🥘 Ingredients

To make this delicious orange cinnamon drink, you will need orange juice, cinnamon sticks and fresh chili.

The chili or cinnamon can be omited to suit your preferences. Despite adding fresh chili, the drink will not be really spicy, it will simply have a hint of heat, and gain some lovely flavor.

    🔪 Instructions

This drink can be made in several different ways, depending on which appliance you want to use. The main thing is that the orange juice has to be heated up with the cinnamon stick and chili added.

Stovetop: Add the orange juice, chili and cinnamon to a saucepan or small pot. Bring it to a boil and leave the drink to simmer for 5 minutes.

Slow cooker: Add the ingredients to a slow cooker and cook on low for 2-5 hours.

Microwave: Add the ingredients to a microwave proof bowl, and microwave for 1-2 minutes, or until the liquid has warmed through.

Remove the chili and cinnamon stick, and serve.

    💭 Top tips

Here's my best tips on making the perfect cinnamon and orange drink:

    • Use cinnamon sticks, not cinnamon powder. This will give the orange juice a delicious cinnamon-y flavor without any powdered residue being left in the cup.
    • This drink is 100% better if you use a nice orange juice. Freshly squeezed orange juice is by far the best choice, but any juice will do.

🥗 How to serve spiced hot orange juice

Serve this orange drink as a healthy, comforting drink for cold nights or as a part of a healthy breakfast.

The spiced orange drink is extra cute served with a cinnamon stick and dried orange slices on top. Also, what about a snack? Cinnamon rolls or popcorn are perfect, easy to make options.

    🍲 Leftovers

You can leave any leftover juice to cool down, and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days. Serve the spiced juice cold, or reheat it in a pot or the microwave
