    Why you'll love it

    • Easy to make
    • Affordable ingredients
    • Easy to customize
    • Quick and easy breakfast
    • Serve it hot or cold
    • Only 5 ingredients needed

    Ingredients

Mango: Use fresh mango, or diced frozen mango cubes.

Milk: Any milk works well, including almond milk, oat milk, skim milk or soy milk.

Greek yogurt: Creamy, thick yogurt gives overnight oats an amazing texture.

Rolled oats: These oats are my favorite to use in overnight oats, as they give the dish a fantastic texture. Alternatively, you can also use quick cook oats. Don't use steel cut oats, as they require cooking to be edible.

Vanilla extract: Adds a hint of vanilla to the oats. You can omit this if you like.

Ingredients needed for this recipe on a table.

    Instructions

You can find full instructions + ingredient measurements in the recipe card at the bottom of this page

One: Dice the mango, and combine the ingredients in a bowl or container. I like to use reusable food containers, or mason jars.

Two: Seal the container with a lid or plastic wrap, and store it in a refrigerator for at least 8 hours, or ideally overnight.

Three: Warm the oats up in a microwave for a minute, or serve them cold.

    Top tip

    • Make sure to store your oats in a sealed container to keep them fresh for longer. Any food storage containers will do.
    • Transfer the oats to a microwave safe container if you want to warm them up.
    • Make a big batch of plain oats, and add different fruits or berries to each portion to keep breakfast interesting through the week.
    • Oats are also great as a snack throughout the day.
    • This dish can easily be prepared by kids too!

    Serving suggestions

Overnight oats with mango can be served warm or cold. You can serve them as they are, but they are often served with toppings. Here are some of my favorite ideas to top this dish with:

    • Chocolate Covered Pineapple
    • Peanut butter
    • Air Fryer Pineapple
    • Cinnamon Raisin Granola
    • Strawberry Basil Sauce
    • Fresh fruit, or extra mango chunks
    • Sugar Free Grape Jam
A spoon with mango and oats.

    Variations

Vegan oats: Use vegan alternatives to milk and Greek yogurt. Vegan yogurt and milk alternatives, like coconut yogurt, soy yogurt, oat milk and almond milk can be found in most supermarkets.

Gluten free version: Make sure that you're using certified gluten free oats. Also, make sure to use gluten free milk, such as cow's milk or soy milk.

Extra protein: Add a teaspoon of chia seeds, or ½ scoop of protein powder to the oats to make them a little more filling.

Extra healthy fat: Add diced nuts, seeds or peanut butter. This will make the oats more filling and calorie dense.

    Leftovers

You can store refrigerator oats in a sealed container in a refrigerator for up to 4 days. If you use very ripe mango, it might only last one or two days.

These oats are perfect for make ahead breakfasts. If you make a big batch, you have breakfast ready to eat for several days.

You can warm up the oats in a microwave or in a pot on the stove, but many people prefer to eat mango fridge oats cold.
