I love a good air fryer recipe, and these easy baked apples are a new favorite of mine. I like them as an easy dessert, but I actually serve them more often for breakfast.
As these are apples, lightly sweetened with honey and raisins, this is such a healthy and simple dish to make. Absolutely perfect when you have a sweet tooth, or just want a quick dessert or treat.
🥘 Ingredients
These easy baked apples with raisins and walnuts only require a handful of ingredients.
The main ingredients is fresh apples. You can use your favorite type of apple; I prefer Granny Smith green apples.
You will also need honey, or an alternative such as maple syrup or agave syrup, along with raisins, walnuts and cinnamon.
🔪 Instructions
Cut the apples in half down the middle, and scoop out the core. Sprinkle some cinnamon, and fill the apples with raisins and roughly chopped walnuts. Finally, drizzle over some honey. Estimate one half apple per serving.
Place the filled apples in an air fryer with a little space in between each of them. Air fry at 350° F or 180° C for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples have softened enough to easily pierce with a fork.
Make sure to check the apples towards the end of the cooking time, as your air fryer might cook faster or slower than suggested.
The apples are best served immediately while they are still warm.
💭 Top tips
Here are my top tips to get this recipe perfect:
- Your air fryer might cook faster or slower than mine. Check it occasionally to ensure that the apples and raisins don't burn. The apples are ready to eat when they are soft enough to pierce with a fork.
- Replace the filling with anything you like. You can substitute oats or marzipan for the raisins and walnuts.
- If you don't add enough honey, or overcook the dish, the raisins could burn. If this happens, you can save the dish by replacing them with uncooked raisins before serving.
🥗 Serving suggestions
Air fryer baked apples are commonly enjoyed as a healthy dessert. Serve them as is, or with a side of custard, ice cream or strawberry basil sauce.
You can also serve the apples for breakfast, alone or with some Greek yogurt. I also like to serve them with some warm oatmeal, as a quick alternative to apple pie baked oatmeal.
🍲 Leftovers
You can store leftover baked apples in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve them cold, or reheat them in a microwave for a few minutes until they are warm throughout.
The apples are not suitable for freezing, and you should avoid storing them at room temperature for extended periods of time.

Wow, so easy to make. Used oats instead of sultanas and pink lady apples. Will definitely make this again.

Oh my deliciousness 😋😍😋
I used dates instead of raisins. Topped then off with strawberry sauce and sour cream and oh my deliciousness.
Thank you so much for that recipe ❤️
