🥘 Ingredients
The only ingredient you need for this recipe is fresh kiwi! I don't recommend using frozen kiwi, as it contains a lot of water.
🔪 Instructions
First, you have to peel the kiwis, and cut them into thin slices. The thinner you cut them, the faster they dry out in the oven. Aim to cut them in 5 mm or ¼ inch discs.
Dehydrate them in the oven at 250°F / 100°C fan oven / 120°C for 2-3 hours. The kiwi slices are done when they have shrunk significantly. They will be very dry, but still bendable.
Leave the dried kiwi slices to cool down completely, and enjoy!
💭 Top tips
Here are my best tips for perfect kiwi chips:
- Be patient as the kiwi slices bake. Don't be tempted to increase the temperature of the oven, as this can cause the kiwis to burn.
- I like to make my kiwi chips plain, but you can try to add some seasoning if you wish.
🥗 Serving suggestions
I usually make dried fruit like kiwi chips as a snack. I also think they would be great as a part of a grazing table, charcuterie or cheese board.
Alternatively, use it as you would use dried fruit! Add the kiwi slices to baked goods and cakes, in granola or smoothie bowls.
🍲 Leftovers
These kiwi snacks can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
