I love a good treat once in a while, and this is one of my favourite weeknight desserts. It's easy to make, and you can roast the bananas while eating dinner. If you want to try out some other dessert recipes, this strawberry cream cheese parfait is a family favorite, and my Norwegian apple cake (eplekake) is one of the most popular recipes on the blog.

    🥘 Ingredients

To make these, you will need ripe bananas, cinnamon and a sweetener like honey, agave syrup, maple syrup or date syrup.

You can also add any extras like chocolate chips, caramel sauce or cacao powder.

Bananas baked with honey and cinnamon.

    🔪 Instructions

Cut the bananas in half lengthwise. Keep the banana peels attached. Pre-heat your oven to 180°C / 175°C fan oven / 350°F / gas mark 4. Add the bananas to a baking tray, peel sides down. Sprinkle cinnamon and honey or agave syrup on top, and bake the bananas for about 15 minutes, or until they are warm.

The banana skins will have turned completely black, and the bananas will have gone completely soft. Eat the banana by scooping out the soft fruit mash with a spoon.
