Green apples and peanut butter is such a great combination. For as long as I can remember I have been dipping apple slices into a jar of peanut butter as a late night treat. This recipe elevates the snack significantly and is a slightly more presentable version.

    🥘 Ingredients

To make this recipe you will need crispy apples (green apples are my personal favorite), runny peanut butter, and any toppings you would like.

For toppings you can use chocolate chips, raisins, chopped nuts or almonds, dried fruit, raspberries, blueberries, chocolate drizzle or coconut flakes.

    🔪 Instructions

Remove the apple cores and thinly slice the apples. Arrange the slices on a plate. Drizzle peanut butter over them, and add any toppings.

    💭 Top tips

Here is my best advice to make the perfect apple nachos:

    • If you're really craving something sweet, try dipping the apple slices in melted chocolate first. Alternatively, drizzle the apple slices with caramel sauce. You can thank me later.
    • If your peanut butter is more of a thick spread rather than runny, you can add some peanut oil to thin it out. It has to be quite liquid-y for you to be able to actually drizzle it on top.

    🥗 Serving suggestions

Serve peanut butter apple nachos as an easy snack. This is perfect to make as a single serving snack plate, but you can also make a larger batch to feed a crowd.

    🍲 Leftovers

As sliced apples tend to turn brown quick, I suggest eating the apple nachos immediately after preparation. You can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 hours.

If you happen to have leftovers, the apple slices might get discolored fast, but they will still be edible. Use them as filling for apple cake, apple pie or oatmeal.
