Notes

Is this recipe allergy friendly? – Yep. This recipe is dairy free, gluten free, egg free and soy free. Remember to consult the nutrition label of any ingredients or toppings you use to ensure that they comply with your dietary needs.
Is this snack suitable for my diet? – This low calorie snack is perfect for most diets. It is suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet, as well as weight watchers, slimming world, whole 30 and paleo.
Can I make nachos with any other fruits? – Yep! You can make these with any crunchy fruit like star fruit. You can also make it with softer fruits like sliced kiwi, pears or oranges.
Which apples are best to use? – I love using green, sour apples like Granny Smith for this recipe. Gala apples are also great, but you can honestly use any type of apple.

Top tips

Here is my best advice to make the perfect apple nachos:
  • If you’re really craving something sweet, try dipping the apple slices in melted chocolate first. Alternatively, drizzle the apple slices with caramel sauce. You can thank me later.
  • If your peanut butter is more of a thick spread than runny, you can add some peanut oil to thin it out. It has to be quite liquid-y for you to be able to actually drizzle it on top.

Leftovers

As sliced apples tend to turn brown quick, I suggest eating the apple nachos immediately after preparation. You can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 hours.
If you happen to have leftovers, the apple slices might get discolored fast, but they will still be edible. Use them as filling for apple cake, apple pie or oatmeal.
