🥘 Ingredients
For this recipe you will need raw beef, preferably a nice cut of steak, or alternatively beef strips. You will also need raw broccoli, garlic, ginger, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, vegetable oil, cornflour and honey.
Oyster sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil are all very versatile ingredients commonly used in Asian cooking. If you don't have them available, you can use a stir fry sauce packet instead!
🔪 Instructions
Prepare all ingredients before you start stir frying. Finely grate or chop fresh ginger and garlic, and cut the broccoli into small florets. Slice the steak into bite sized beef strips. For a tender result, cut the steak against the grain.
Combine oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey and cornflour in a bowl, and set aside.
Keep in mind that as you stir fry, you have to keep the ingredients moving in the wok at all times. Literally stir as you fry the ingredients.
Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or a large skillet on very high heat when you are ready to start stir frying.
When the oil is hot, add the broccoli to the wok, and stir fry until they are tender, 3-4 minutes.
Remove the broccoli and add sliced beef. Stir fry until the beef has browned on all sides, 2-3 minutes.
Add the broccoli back to the wok, along with the ginger and garlic. Cover with the sauce, and stir fry another minute to allow the sauce to cook through. Remove the beef and broccoli stir fry from the wok, and serve immediately.
