- 2 cups frozen blackberries (or fresh)
- 2 bananas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
Peel and dice the bananas.
Add the Greek yogurt to your blender, along with diced bananas and blackberries. When blending smoothies, I prefer to place the softest ingredients in the bottom, as this helps the smoothie blend nicely. I suggest adding the yogurt first, followed by fresh ingredient, and leaving the frozen ingredient to last.
Blend until smooth. Depending on the make and model of your blender this can take from 20 seconds to 2 minutes. Use a spoon to push the ingredients down or scrape down the edges as required.
Pour the smoothie into glasses, and serve!
- A good blender is essential. You might be able to make your smoothie with an immersion blender or a food processor, but a regular stand blender is best suited for the job.
- Smoothies taste best when you use very ripe bananas. Ideally they should have at least a few black spots. Avoid using green, or bright yellow bananas.
- You can store leftover smoothie in a sealed jug or bottle in your refrigerator for up to a day.
