- 4 slices of bread
- ½ red pepper
- ½ yellow pepper
- ½ green pepper
- ½ chili
- 50 g cheese (sliced or shredded)
Preheat the oven to 390 °F / 200 °C / 190 °C fan oven.
Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet covered baking tray, and top with grated or sliced cheese. Add finely diced peppers and chilli, and bake the toasts in the oven for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the peppers are slightly golden.
Optionally, you can top the toasts with any fresh herbs, or sauces such as ketchup or sriracha before serving.
- Due to differences in ovens, your toasts might cook faster or slower than mine. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn!
- You can use any color peppers you like – although a variety of colors make the toasts look nicer.
- Leftover chilli cheese toast can be stored in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep in mind that the texture of toast tend to change, and the dish might not be as appetizing the next day.
