Cilantro Tea
Cilantro tea is a healthy and refreshing drink that’s incredibly easy to make. It’s a great summertime drink, and perfect if you have some leftover cilantro to use up.

- 1 cup water
- 3 sprigs cilantro
Boil the water in a kettle or on the stovetop. Pour it into a tea pot or cup.
Steep the cilantro leaves in hot water for 5-7 minutes.
Remove the leaves, and drink!
What is the difference between coriander and cilantro? – In American English cilantro is the name of the leaves and coriander is the name of the seeds of the same plant. In other parts of the world, like in the UK, the word coriander is used to describe both the leaves and the seeds. Coriander leaves and cilantro leaves are therefore the same items!
Can I used frozen or dried herbs? – Absolutely. They will both work just as fine as the fresh herbs.
Can I add more flavor to the tea? – This herbal tea is very mild. If you wish to add more flavor, you can add some mint, lemon or lime juice, or some honey to sweeten it slightly. If you want a stronger cilantro flavor, add even more herbs!
Is this drink suitable for my diet? - This recipe is allergy friendly. It is also vegan, paleo, whole30, keto and more. Since it only contains cilantro and water, this is a drink most people can enjoy.
Leftovers
Cilantro tea is perfect for using up any leftover cilantro leaves. If you happen to make a large pot of tea and don’t finish it all, you can store it in the fridge for up to a day.
Serve leftover tea cold with added ice cubes, or reheat it before serving.
