Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 210°C / 200°C fan oven / 410°F.
  • Combine the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar in a small bowl.
  • Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet, skin side down. Pour the glaze over the fillets, carefully to avoid it dripping straight off. Use a party brush if you have it available. Season with some pepper, and bake the salmon in the oven.
  • The salmon takes 10-15 minutes to cook, depending on the size of the fillets. It's ready to eat when you're able to easily flake the salmon with a fork.

Notes

  • If you have time, you could add the glaze to the salmon and leave it to marinate for up to an hour. This will allow the flavors to set a little bit better. I usually skip this step and just make it straight away - which also tastes really nice. If you want it perfect though, I recommend leaving it in marinade first.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 4 to 6 months. You can freeze leftovers, thaw them and add to salads, sandwiches or other dishes.
  • I prefer to use boneless fillets, but bone-in ones work too.
  • If using frozen salmon fillets, make sure to thaw them thoroughly before cooking.
