Ingredients

  • 4 oranges

Instructions

  • Cut the oranges into thin discs. The thinner you cut them, the faster they dry out in the oven. Aim to cut them in 5 mm or ¼ inch discs.
  • Dehydrate them in the oven at 250°F / 100°C fan oven / 120°C for 2-3 hours. Turn them over after an hour. The orange slices are done when they have dried out completely and feel crunchy.
  • Leave the oranges to cool down fully before serving them or adding them to a container.

Top tips

Here are my best tips for perfect dried orange slices:
  • Be patient as the orange slices bake. Don’t be tempted to increase the temperature of the oven, as this can cause the oranges to burn.
  • Orange slices contain a lot of water, and therefore tend to take longer to bake compared to other dried fruits.
  • Use ripe, sweet oranges and slice them as thinly as you can to reduce the baking time required.
