Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the water, ginger, turmeric and pepper to a pot on the stove top. Bring it to a boil on medium to high heat. As soon as the tea starts boiling, you can remove it off the heat.
  • Then, add lemon juice and sweetener to taste. I like to add about ½ teaspoon of honey, but this comes down to your personal preferences. You might want to add sweetener, lemon, both or neither.
  • Serve the tea immediately in appropriate cups, and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use fine ground black pepper. If you use coarsely ground pepper, you will have to strain the tea before serving it.
  • You can store leftover tea in a sealed container in your refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat it and serve it warm, or enjoy it chilled as iced tea.
