Air Fryer Pineapple
Who doesn’t love grilled pineapple? With this air fryer pineapple recipe you can have this excellent treat ready in only a few minutes – with minimal effort required.
- ½ pineapple
- 2 teaspoon honey
Slice the pineapple. Remove the outer skin off the pineapple, along with the hard centre. Spray the inside of an air fryer with olive oil spray.
Place the pineapple slices or pieces in the air fryer in one single layer. Avoid stacking them on top of each other. If you’re cooking a large amount of pineapple, you might have to air fry them in several batches.
Drizzle or brush a thin layer of honey over the top of the pineapple slices. Air fry the slices on 355°F or 180°C for 8-15 minute. Check regularly, as the exact cooking time will vary. The pineapple is done when the edges are slightly charred.
If you’re cooking in multiple batches, the next batches will cook a lot quicker as the air fryer is already preheated. Keep an eye on the fruit to avoid overcooking it.
Store leftover air fryer pineapple in a refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can serve it cold, or reheat the slices quickly in an air fryer or microwave before serving.
You can also freeze the pineapple, but keep in mind that it tends to be quite watery and mushy after thawing. Frozen grilled pineapple can be used in sauces, smoothies or other pureed dishes.
Here are my best tips for succeeding with this honey glazed pineapple recipe:
- Don’t omit the honey! The sugars in the syrup will create a glaze over the pineapple, and prevent the slices from drying out.
- The exact frying time will vary depending on how your air fryer works and the thickness of your pineapple slices. Check on them regularly, and remove the fruit from the air fryer when there’s a slight char on the edges.
- If you don’t have a non stick air fryer, you might want to spray it with some neutral oil before cooking to keep the pineapple from sticking to the bottom of it.
