Cost: Cheap
- 150 g strawberries (7-8 berries)
- 4 basil leaves
Rinse the strawberries, and remove the green tops. Place them in a food processor with the basil leaves.
Process the ingredients until smooth, then taste the sauce. Add additional basil, or a sweetener to taste if you think it’s necessary.
Leftovers
Store leftover strawberry basil sauce in a refrigerator for up to 3 days.
I highly suggest storing it separately in a container, and adding it to your dishes as required. This will ensure that the sauce keeps fresh for as long as possible.
Top tips
Although this recipe is incredible simple, here are my top tips to ensure that you get the best result from the strawberry and basil sauce:
- Use ripe, fresh strawberries and basil leaves. This will give the sauce the best possible flavor.
- I like to use a small food processor, but a hand blender or a blender can work as well.
- Blend the sauce completely smooth, or leave some smaller chunks if you prefer.
