Ginger Lemon Iced Tea
This refreshing ginger lemon iced tea is the perfect cold drink to enjoy on hot summer days. It’s really easy to make, and completely sugar free!
- 4 cup water
- 2 ginger lemon tea bags
Bring the water to a boil.
Pour the boiling water into a jug and add the tea bags. If you wish, you can also add some honey or sweetener, fresh ginger or lemon slices.
Leave the tea to steep for 5-10 minutes before removing the tea bags.
Allow the tea to cool down further, then transfer it to a refrigerator to chill completely. Serve the cold iced tea as a refreshing beverage, or with a meal.
Can I make iced tea with other tea bags? – Absolutely! Any tea can be served as iced tea following the methods above. You might have to adjust the steeping time to fit the tea you use.
Leftover ginger lemon iced tea can be stored in a refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep it chilled, and bring it out only to serve.
Add ice cubes and any garnishes such as a lemon slice when serving it. Avoid leaving lemon or ginger slices in the iced tea while it’s resting in the fridge, as they can give the tea a stronger flavor than intended.
Here are my best tips for this super easy recipe:
- Iced teas are rarely used for alcoholic cocktails, but this one is excellent with vodka. Just saying.
- If you want a sweeter tea, add some sweetener or honey while the tea is still hot. This will allow the sweetener to properly dissolve into the liquid.
- You can totally turn this into a sparkling iced tea by steeping the tea in half or the amount of water. Chill the tea, then dilute it with sparkling water before serving.
