  • Boil water in a pot or kettle, then pour it into a glass or jug. Add chia tea bags, and leave them to steep for 4-5 minutes. If filling a whole jug, use 2 tea bags, or 1 tea bag for a glass or cup.
  • Remove the tea bag(s). If you wish to add any sweeteners such as honey and maple syrup, you should do that now and dissolve it into the tea. Allow the tea to cool down completely.
  • Add ice cubes and almond milk to a glass, and pour the cold tea over the top. For a milk chai latte, you should fill half the glass with milk. For a stronger chai flavor, you should fill the glass a quarter full with milk.
  • You can either make this drink in single servings, or brew the chai tea in a larger jug to prepare several servings of cold chai latte.

Top tips

Here’s the best advice on how you can make the perfect iced chai latte.
  • Feel free to infuse the drink with any flavors you want. Chai tea is sometimes served with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cardamom, but you could try adding any flavor you like.
  • Any iced drink is way nicer when served over ice cubes!
  • Allow the tea to cool down completely before adding it to the milk. This definitely makes the best chilled drink.

You can store leftover iced chai latte in the fridge for up to 2 days. I like to keep the tea and milk separate, and pour them over ice cubes when I feel like making a drink.
